Tips
Sharing: When you want to get a creation out of an iPad app look for the "Share" button. There is usually a variety of options including email, social media and photo library/camera roll (this is my default).
Downloading Images/Video: Don't forget you can simply connect your iPad to a computer using the USB cable to copy your images and video onto your computer. On a PC you will get the AutoPlay dialog box (select "Open Device to View Files"). Then all you need to do is keep opening folders until you find your files. Don't ask me how they are organized! You will also need to tell your iPad that you "Trust" the computer you are connecting to.
How to take a Screenshot on the iPad: It is simple to create an image of any screen on your iPad. These images can then be used for a collage or the base for a sketch or painting.
Troubleshooting an iPad: It doesn't happen often but you might run into issues with an app and there are a couple things you can try.
1. Restart the iPad. Press and hold the power button until the "Slide to power off" comes up. Slide it! Then press the power button again to restart.
2. Turn off some of the programs running in the background. Double click the home button. Press and hold an icon until it wiggles. Press the red minus symbol to close it down.
3. If an app is really giving you issues, uninstall it and then re-install it. Press and hold the app icon until it wiggles. Press the black X and select "Delete" then get it off the App Store.
QR Codes - With the combination of a QR code generator/printer and a QR code reader on your iPad you can design some pretty cool lessons. For
example, you could create QR codes for a subject like "line". The codes could lead students to the definition, example images, artist that excel at using this subject. You could even throw in one that doesn't fit and ask the students to identify it. Example
