60x LED Pocket Microscope Jeweler Magnifier Adjustable Loupe $5 You can glue a small rubber grommet onto your rubber skin so that this tiny microscope can be used with your iPad. I love the tiny light that comes attached. This is great for field work.

Sescom iPad TRRS to XLR Mix cable: This cable allows you to connect a professional mic to your ipad. You can get it up to 12 ft long!
Samson Meteor Mic USB Studio Microphone (Cardioid) $70 - This USB microphone can be combined with the USB connector below to give you great voice recordings. it also works great with your computer. You will want to get it close to the persons mouth so I got a scissor style microphone boom stand for $100.
1/8 inch Adapter $25 This cable will allow you to connect any microphone with an 1/8 inch adapter to your iPad as long as the microphone doesn't require power.

Camera Connection Kits
These will allow you to shoot photo/video with some digital still/video cameras and then transfer the footage to your iPad for editing. You have two options: USB and SD. The USB will allow you to transfer photos/video from one iPad to another which can be great when working in groups. You can also use the cameras USB cable to download the media from the camera to your iPad. The SD card lets you load images/video onto your iPad. You can not simply put files onto a flash drive or SD card for transfer. The files must be in the same folders and use the same naming conventions as the camera manufactures use.
